Samy's Curry

Sweetheart and I have finally found a better place for filling our tummy's with even more delicious Fish Head Curry!

The previous place that we frequent is at Joo Chiat, one of the Teochew eating house but today we decided to try out Samy's Curry.

Yummy if you ask me! =))

Their cabbage was especially nice and they had briani but because I can tolerate some spices they had in their rice, I opted for the white rice instead. But sweetheart insisted that it's extremely tasty so yup, maybe I should try a little the next time round?

Oh! And for people who are comfortable in using their hands to eat, it's most welcome over there because they have a station for washing hands. So I got my hands dirty because I ate with my hands, (because my maternal side is Peranakan and they all eat with their hands when they have the opportunity to) which was pretty dumb because the fish head itself was scotching hot! More over, the "flavour" in the food does not seem to get to me as much compared to when I eat with spoon. So yup! I'm officially gonna stop this family habit of ours and eat in a more civilized manner. (i mean not that I'm saying it's not civilized but, it does get the food and all into the finger nails which is darn gross).

OMG our own store!!!

Ok! Well, let's not get too excited here. Although I would say it's not exactly how I feel when I first saw it. Oh heck, either way IT'S OUR STORE!!!

LOL

Well, the picture below that you are about to see is what Beau took in Italy. It is one of the shops that she went by and I'm sure she immediately thought of US! Brook and I!

But you see, as his name is pronounced and spelled as Brooke (which he stick to it after an American called him that) because initially, sweetheart's name is actually Book. I mean not an official name, but it's a nick name that all his family members calls him.

It was supposedly to be derived from his parents printing company because they sell, hmmm mainly books. LOL
Our store!!!

So, nowwwww, sweetheart has just told me like 2 days ago that he decided to drop the "e" in Brooke to Brook! Haha Cos alot of people says that it's girly, but in actual fact, it's suppose to be a unisex name. But either way, lol, he's not too comfortable with it.

And yeah!!! =)) His whole family is here to celebrate his birthday (and Belle's of cos) on Sunday, and I'm taking him somewhere for lunchie tomorrow for an early celebration! =))

OH! And I had a great time spending time "window shopping" with Belle today (His another younger sis) who is about to go America to study. Which means we will be seeing much less of her. Hmmm, well at least the celebration is going to include having fun with the whole family re-united until next year when we can finally see her again.

=))

I'm already looking forward to it!!

Yummmmmmy!

With sweetheart having to go work everyday, it's still almost daily that I meet him, well, usually for dinner.

So because he was not as hungry because he had to go school for some meeting that he had for his CCA, I demanded for Thai Express, because I had the discount card and at the same time, I was craving for thai food.

And haha, both of our faces look weird here. I just remembered that I was simply hungry and he was trying to steal my food. Typical him.

My 1st Mac

It's been a day or 2 that I've blogged because I've been trying to figure out how to utilize the Mac to its fullest since I've been so used to Microsoft. I mean there's no "Paint" for a start, which I mainly use for editing of photos so there's iPhoto to take over its place but I can't seem to understand how the program works still. -_- so yup, I've been taking "lessons" online for Mac.

For the ctrl+v, ctrl+c, and all the other short cuts that Microsoft have, well, Apple does have them too, just that it's different.

Either way, it's been fun learning new things and exploring them. It's a whole new system which I truly admire it. Mainly because it's not as complex as Microsoft. I mean it is really easy if you get the hang of it.
Well, here's my 1st Mac. =))

Books to be read

I totally forgot to upload the pics of the books that I've read and am reading.

Anyway, if there's plenty of time to spare, why not try some readin'. There's a book that I've just recently finished, it's called "Getting Personal". Some chick flick story to get by, light and easy reading.

But if a walk down to history is your type, why not try Lee Kuan Yew "From Third World to First". It's pretty cheap if u ask, 30+ for a book like that, quantity plus quality, but because I'm afraid I'll simply chuck it somewhere when I'm done reading it, I went down to borrow it from the library. =))

So far, after reading the first 50 pages, it's, sensational.

Catching up is so much fun!

It's amazing how some times friends don't catch up often yet everything about them is so familiar when u finally meet up again.

So this is what happened when i met up with Liz today for lunchie at New York New York! =))

Yup! Catching up is so much fun especially when everything comes light and easy. It's been 3 years ago when we first met in RP. Because we met on the way to school, talked a little and found out we were from the same secondary school, that pretty much kicked start our friendship and off we went, marching into the wrong class on the first day of RP.

With a year together of slacking and more slacking, it got us pretty close and I even
joined the same CCA as her! LOL which I opted out later because I was so lazy to get home later and later each week from the training. Nonetheless, it is always fun being with lizzie. =))

And now, Liz is gonna go Aussie for a year of study! Boo hoo! But i'm sure time will simply fly past plus, and with modern technology? -_- it's no sweat~

Either way, knowing that Liz is a very adventurous gal, she's all for whatever that comes her way.

So! Because it is Liz's first attempt in New York New York, I told her which to avoid
ordering and introduced her the goodies that I've tried before. =))

Hers: Pork Lasagna
Mine: Beef***** (I forgot, but it's under the sandwiches column!)

See the first pic of liz, the top left hand corner, wonder why her face is half smiling? LOL
It's cos she was shocked by the flash of the camera! lol.

And yup, thats why a 2nd shot was taken, the
pretty pretty liz on the bottom right hand corner.

And after all the sharing and laughing etc. we finally placed our order for the Mudpie With Ice Cream! =)``

The cream of the crop if u ask me! =))

And so the time went by and the final bye to lizzie... ... till next year! =))

Take care babe!

And YEAH! =))

Sweetheart's dad got for me a bag from HK and so, that's added to my bags collection! =))

Thank you uncle!!!

=))

As promised

Hey guys!

So sorry to have taken so long to put up the pics. Well, as promised! They pics that
are to be uploaded are here!

Our yummylicious Ichiban hang out

And then the 2nd time of the week for another delicious meal. Yum YUM! Hehe, but this time I didnt take much pic, just us, you know, EATING. =P

and yes! Din Tai Fung! The restaurant that I had tasted before but never thought it was as good as Crystal Jade's. But one fine day, I went back there with my mom and ordered the usual, xiao long bao, veg, and the prawn fishcake (which they recommended), and MAN! It was good!

I must say that their standard has risen and I'm impressed that they gave my mom and I extra 2 pieces of xiao long baos because there were 2 xiao long baos in the first
"batch" had their skin broken, thus the soup of the xiao long baos were no longer "in place".

So yup! I was back in the same restaurant at Raffles City with sweetheart to enjoy on the very next week!

Sweetheart and I had our another round of laksa at Katong yet again but this time, we had it at the other stall opposite the one we frequent. The one nearer to the bridge, next to the 7-eleven.

The verdict?

The one we usually frequent is the nicer one! Although it taste quite the same as the
picture above, I would say that the chilli is much more tasty. (that is, the one we frequent)

But like how Princess Linda says to me, "the authentic stall is at Bedok". Haha and so, that's my next destination when I need some boost of laksa.

And so that's all on food, let's move on to things my mom and I bought on our shopping trips to Orchard!

Well, firstly, mommy and I bought a few clothes which was on sale and the ones we've got are gorgeous!
And because my mom has been thinking of getting something from Coach for quite some time now, she decided she have a go at her new Black coach bag! She somehow fancies the sling kinda bag. And for me, a new LV bag, more of a hand carry one oh and it even have a lock! =))

Plus! A new burberry one, a real bargain if u ask me! =)) Great Singapore Sale rocks!

And of cos, a pair of shoes that are also on a great bargain! =)) Well, that leaves one more pair of white shoes and a black one to buy.

All of this week of cos did not go on without meeting my beloved colleges!

And yes! Chip and Dale belongs to Qing Qing! Haha! She bought them cos her pathetic slipper which was really, I mean REALLY worn off finally gave way! Hahahhaa And yes, this cute cute slipper is added to her collection of the "cute cute" things she got in the office!

It's so great to sit down and talk to them again like every other lunch time we spent when I was working there. Well, yes, I know, nothing much change withing these 2 weeks but man, I really miss those times now.

Anyway, I managed to BOO Nani! Haha and simply catch up with just a short 1.5 hrs there. Btw, Nani and Qing Qing! POPEYE WHEN AR?! -_-" By the rate of your thinking, I might be needing a walking stick when U both finally make up your mind on when to eat man. LOL

And so that's for this week,

the missed, ate and bought. =)

A week to remember......or not?

Opps, it's been a week that I've blogged. And yup! There's reason to it of cos.

I have mainly been, shopping. Haha yes, yes, shopping with my mom and we've bought quite a lot of things combined together. Somehow, my mom is all about the Singapore sale. She is, of cos, not the typical kind of auntie, more a fashionable one I may say so it is actually enjoyable to shop with her.

I find that alot of times I enjoy the time shopping with her because she sort of knows my "taste" and knows what I fancy. We used to be much closer though when I was dating. We used to go out every time my dad's not free but I suppose, the time we spent now is quality not quantity.

She's very much my confidante, best friend as well as a mom. I mean she's not perfect, I mean who is right, but she never fails to be there for me. Which is pretty much all everyone needs, don't ya think?

Anyways, I will post up all the pics I've took this week soon and yup! There's food, fashion, some intellectual stuffs haha, which are books actually (read and am reading) and maybe, just maybe, much more... ...

And today's Belle's Birthday! So Happy Birthday Belle! Hmm, that is if you see this. =))

Sun-day. A well loved day

Fathers' Day was simply spent by having lunch together with my parents and accompanied by my bf too! =))

Nothing special for Fathers' Day cos my parents believe it's more of a "gimmicks" day to lure people to spend. LOL oh well. So I simply bought handkerchiefs for my daddy! And it even have "J" on them which stands for Jeffery, which is of cos my dad's name. Not to mention, they were on sale too!

Anyway, sweetheart and I went to orchard to get it and while I was there, I entered Bebe, yup, still trying my luck on the slippers. And... ... OMG! They have them! Although they are not the exact ones that I was trying to get my hands on, I would say this is good enough, cos, haha, these are the latest! =P

(and not forgetting my sweetheart too cos he paid for them
Thank you baby! =D)

p.s. But then again, I heart u all the same, cos you're my one & only ;P

Fire Fire! Pan on Fire!

OK! For starters, I do not cook much, and secondly, I was half asleep while trying to cook.

I woke up this morning feeling sleepy still, switched on the TV and saw some drama. Not long after they were eating scrambled eggs and so, there, it started my desire.

A clever Alex I was, bringing 2 eggs out of the fridge, a hamburger meat, and started to wash the pan and all. Not being fully aware of what was really happening, or at least, not thinking, i poured oil and on the fire.

And there! The fire just blew up really high and I thought I was going to burn the house down. I mean really, I'm not exaggerating. Cos you see, my whole entire kitchen is made of wood, I mean except the SINK!, and the fire went high enough to reach the wood part of the built-in cabinet.

I was too shocked that I stood rooted to the ground and suddenly, for some reason, I quickly moved in to off the fire stove.

Well, luckily that did the trick. -_-"

The days that have gone by so quickly... ...

Wednesday

I can't quite remember what I did actually but all I knew was during dinner time because I can still "smell" it, it was no doubt one of the better hokkien noodle in town!

The none other than the Kim Kee Hokkien Noodle! I ate the same hokkien noodle ever since I was little and the BOSS is also known for his fashion. Haha! yes! Fashion! Because he wears a long sleeve shirt with a GOLD rolex to fry the noodles. -_-" Which kinda not make much sense to me, but who cares! His noodles are fantastic! =))

Oh yah! One more thing! The plate u see below that we ordered, it is just $8! And their chilli? *drools* well enough said. =P

Thursday

I headed off early, which reminds me how difficult to get up in the morning again, for SIM. But I mean, my parents fetched me there, so haha, it's not all that bad for a start, unlike work. =P Oh and with Kenneth. =)) Cos he's going SIM too and haha 3 years of seeing him almost everyday, who could have thought of it! My friend ever since Sec school time!

Anyway, on the way there, he took out a gift which he bought for me from Taiwan on his last army trip there! =)) And it's a lovely keychain!

Which I used it almost immediately cos my current keychain was pretty big to fit into my smaller handbags. So yup! Thanks Kenneth especially since it comes in handy! =))

So off we went for the enrollment talk that SIM had for us, newbies, and I must say I was quite surprise to see so little people, but I suppose it's cos there's other degrees that SIM students take. And yup! I saw a few familiar faces that were from RP n one was from my previous class too!

Well, at least I know I wouldn't know NO ONE. Haha plus the fact that I will have Kenneth to go to school with. =P Well, at least till I know how to get there myself. Haha

OH YAH! I forgot to mention! The talk? It was SUPER boring -_-" I can't believe the lecturers are going to talk for 3 hours non stop on normal lectures! Cos with only 2 hours for this enrollment talk, I'm more than half way to lala-land. -_- I MUST think of a way to wake myself up if not I'm SO not going to survive in SIM. =((

and so, the sad news was that our Princesses meeting was postponed to Friday but well, the afternoon was pretty much filled with food and loads of lazing around. haha

And the food you may ask was, SUSHI TEH!

Cos I have yet to try sushi teh and sweetheart and I are just simply Ichiban's loyal customers. We had never try sushi teh before and soooo, I sugguested SUSHI TEH for lunch to Kenneth and he immediately agreed! *it was kin
da suppose to be our next in line kinda place to eat together".

And yup, haha gossips were shares, experiences told, well, it was quite an enjoyable lunchie but I have to say I think ichiban's sushi somewhat nicer, at least to me! =P Haha but for the sashimi? Sushi Teh wins hands down. =))

Friday

And so came the Princesses outing day but I had met up with Princess Linda earlier to grab Jane's pressie!

And so this is the pressie we got her!

And knowing that we had to write a little wishing for Princess Jane on her b'dae card, I brought my whole set of colored pens! I mean, HEY! it's not because I'm crazy or anything ya know, cos the last time I wrote a wishing for Princess Tricia's birthday, with the departmental's pen, acting as if I'm trying it out, I was -_- ended up told to buy it. A total huge embarrassment for me and so I've put my foot down this time that I'm not going to let that happened again. Haha and yes the whole set of colored pens went with me to Orchard!

And with that, Princess Linda and Tricia used it too! But because Princess Tricia came later, she was told to write on the card that Linda n I had already written, we pretty much stressed her by staring at every single alphabets she was writing out!

And not long after, Princess Linda found out that there was a mistake she'd written and so it was her t
urn to be STRESSED !

And because Princess Jane was gonna be late meeting us we ended up taking pics cos, well, there was nothing much to do at that point of time!

So, with no meals that we bought from Mac but simply sitting there not caring much about the world, we were finally bored and went on to Far East to accompany Princess Tricia to get something for her sister.

Within an hours' time, Princess Jane finally arrived and we went on to have Ramen at Far East itself, which I would rate it being quite good. But the service, I mean their greetings are WAY TO LOUD. It almost scared us off the first time!

After dinner. it was the usual photo takings but this time with MORE ... ...

candids
and so Princess Jane and I took revenge by taking even more of them! *evil laughter!*
and Princess Linda bought us a souvenir from Japan and so we did, having out gossips shared, stories told and all the funny, sad incidents we all had encounter between the time we last met up to today!

and so the Princesses time was spent like that and then I went on to meet sweetheart who was in School for some cca stuffs that he joined. -_- Poor thing, his time is being stretched even on a Friday! =((

At home much later, I was on msn with Qing Qing whom I was catching up with, she is one such person who can make me laugh literally online and it's never boring juz talking to her. =))

Missing everyone at work already, PF, Mama, Nani and Qing Qing. Sigh, yet another postpone date for the Popeye outing.

Oh well nvm, by then I'll be sure to take loads of pics =))

Princesses Outing!

Yeah! Counting down to 4 more hours and I'm meeting up with Princesses to celebrate our dear Princess Jane's belated birthday!

Till then, we'll have loads to catch up, stories to tell, gossips to share, and pictures to be taken! =))

Good company with good food

I woke up 11am wondering, SHIT! I'm so gonna be late! But when I looked at my hp smses, I realised my darling Amanda had ask me whether we are able to meet at 3pm instead because poor her had to do her projects.

Well, the natural instinct was to reply her YES!!!! and i went back
to sleep! =)) Lazy me woke up again abt 1.45pm, taking my own sweet time to dress and at the same time watched "The devil wears Prada" =))

And NOOOO, it's not my 1st time watchin', I've watched it before but thought I could do a little chick flick movie to pass the time till I leave the house.

Anyway, we were suppose to meet up to show support to Esther as her designs are featured in the Lasalle Degree Show. It's a pity Ping Ping, Aifang and Beng couldn't make it. I mean, OBVIOUSLY beng couldn't make it cos she's in Aust, but I was hoping Ping and Aifang could so we all can sit down and have a great chat,
reminiscing over KC days.

It's seems oh so long ago, which is, in fact, true. -_- Oh no, we're all just getting older and older. =((

Anyways when I reached Lasalle, we all HAD to take pics! =P In fact, I don't remember when we don't in KC times, especially during the "Friendship Days", "Racial Harmony Day", the plays we performed etc.

And yes! We never change! Haha!

And looking at the above picture, you can see our dearest Esther posing in front of her work. =)) We're so proud of you Esther! =))

After admiring all the hard work on display, we headed down to Bugis cos Esther want us to try a delicious fried fish meat noodle, quite close to the place where DHL hot air balloon is! And the verdict? YUM YUM!!! =))

And so our little gossips, girl talks etc started off and before we know it I'd to run cos I was late for a little meeting with my other clique. -_-"

And so little miss busy me, went there and back and felt hungry again! So sweetheart suggested that we go for Katong Laksa! =)) *drools*

YES! Katong Laksa! Hahahhhaaa, I was so happy just listening to his suggestions, seems my cravings right now have changed from grapes to laksa. =P`

p.s: man and esther, I had fun that day. let's do it again more often and make sure ping, aifang and beng comes along for our gathering!

2nd and also the last day

The day started off by indulging ourselves the Famous Bak Kut Teh at Rangoon Road, looking at it makes me drools once more, but anyhow! After that, we went to Orchard Road and Marina Square where I was mesmerized by the Bebe slipper which I have been dreaming of, literally.
It's got leveled heel and it's black but it's SO disappointing because all sizes were out except XL! *SOBS!*

I took this off from the ebay website because it is something like that but the design is different.

Anyway because Ich wanted to go get Royce to bring back for indulgence, we headed to Suntec where we were welcomed by all the wonderful treats. Oh I mean treats by the testers. Hehe, and the Bee Cheng Hiang's BBQ chilli pork was supposedly to be fabulous but greedy Ich and sweetheart ate all there was in the testers's dish. -_- leaving me with nothing once I came out of the ladies.

BUT! I did try the cheese BBQ pork, I must say that although it does sounds URG, but it's actually really yummy!

(if this was a live thing, I would have needed to say excuse me cos i went to the kitchen to grab some of the BBQ pork which i brought from Lim Chee Guan on Sat!)

Haha.

After buying all the necessary, we got back to Sweetheart's house to let both Beau and Ich pack their stuffs, more of Beau's actually and I waited by continuing my "Troy". And yes, it's a fantastic show which I missed like, a decade ago. -_-

And so, when our stomach grumbles again, we went get them filled up with curry fishhead!

And then, sped off to airport to send the 2 off!
The farewell picture (for now)
The sad part is although I did take Beau and Ich waving at the customs, I somehow lost the pics! =(

Sobz, but nvm at least we have our Beau being inspected before entering the world of DFS!

See ya soon, that is to Beau and Ich. =))

Walking back in time

The weekends were great because Ich, sweetheart's childhood friend came over so Singapore for, a day. Ya, A DAY! Haha, and we brought him to many places of interest, that is other places of interest that he did not visit on his last trip.

It has been a year exactly that he came and yup, we roamed around town, Clark Quay, Chinatown etc. Simply bringing him to everywhere that sells impeccably delicious food.

So while waiting we went to get ice cream by the river! I vividly recall the man from Far East because I was CONNED there too! =(

But nevertheless, it's superb! Everyone should go try it cos the ice cream texture is really different!

After which, we headed down to Marakesh pub to try out their famous Shisha .

(LTR: Marakesh special, Long Island, Ice Lemon Tea)
The Shisha which is inhaled through the pipe is filled with water and strawberry flavour (which we ordered) . I was told it is very much like how people take marijuana, but of course this has no drugs in it.
And then headed back to eastie to have a sumptuous dinner, oh and after which we went to eat the famous Prata House crispy prata too! (together with Beau of course) =P
